It is just my opinion, but I avoid sites that look like that. One of the main reasons is how can the information be valuable if the author is writing it might ads in mind? One or two links is fine, but come on!

I used Chitikia once but it didn't perform very well for me..

Perhaps the service is better for more product oriented websites, as opposed to service or entertainment websites.

Shell, AdSense is great and we're not out to replace it...as that will never happen by anyone...but our new code (Premium Listings) have been shown to produce a much higher CPC...they only appear 20-30% of the time. Our highest performing ads are coming from the Premium Listing advertisers in these categories; Automotive, Finance, Travel and Technology.

The agreement we have with our advertisers in order to maintain maximum CPC rates, allows us to show a premium paying ad only on your pages where the end user has landed directly from a search engine (Google, MSN, and Yahoo). The rest of the time the ad will redirect to your next best performing ad unit (or you can show one of our "regular" ad units).

Thanks for stopping by, Vik. Of course your product/service is being abused here, and I thought it was humorous. I'm surprised to hear that your service is out performing Google Adsense. Do you have any examples or case studies of this?

Those contextual links are a bit excessive! When you have an account with us you have access to our code panel in which you can pick and choose which type of ad units you would like to use. Certain units work better than others. The publishers that I work with constantly tell us that we are their best revenue source other then their best performing ECPM.
